April in work

It looks like im off on another adventure! "No suprise there" will be the response of the majority of readers. Last Summer I spent 10 weeks in Nepal on a volunteering trip with Platform 2 where I had an absolutely brilliant time, an experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Along with 15 other randomers in Sirutar, building a secondary school and living with Nepali family. One of the volunteers is now my girlfriend and travelling partner (Toni Erin Reki Anjali Thapa Childs), with whom I will be setting off on our Gap year come June 25th departing Heathrow and flying to Mumbai (Bombay) India.

India is going to be in my opinion, the toughest leg of the journey, one month travelling around Mumbai, Goa, Hospet/Hampi, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Delhi, Agra, Varanassi, Goraktpur and eventually crossing the India/Nepal border overland, using sleeper class trains in the months of July and August.

As of 19/04/11 we have only 3 train journey's left to book and one or two accomdations as bases for our journey. The plan is to stay one night when we arrive in most of the citys then spend the next morning finding somewhere to stay. Research has shown that it is relatively easy to find places to stay for cheap in these places but we decided it would be nice to know where we are going when we arrive at each city.

As i should really get back to work, Im going to finish off this blog with a little quote that my girlfriend should bear in mind by Mark Twain:
'I have found out that there ain't no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them.'

He obviously knows something about something when the guy more a less predicted his own death a year before it happened....
